Even before we start the relaunch of our expositional Bible study series in the book of Ephesians, we need to lay the groundwork for Bible study and the necessity of having “heart burn” through the Word of God.
On the road to Emmaus, after talking with Jesus, the two disciples looked at each other and proclaimed: “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
There is something powerful when you allow God to reveal truth to you through His Word. We are told that the Word of God is living and active, and when we study it, it is not like studying Shakespeare but rather spending time with the Author Himself. Every Christian should seek to experience “heart burn” as we spend time in the Bible.
