Updates (i.e., the latest)

Well, hello, my friend!

In an effort to be more open and consistent to update my friends on life and what is happening behind the scenes at Deeper Christian, here is “the latest” update(s) … 

April 4, 2026

• My book/commentary/Bible study on the Book of Ruth is finished and will be released online on Tuesday, April 7. While a year later than I had hoped to have it available, I’m excited to have this resource and “labor of love” finished and ready to launch. I have grown to have a deep love for this little book that brightly shines forth the majesty and glory of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament and points toward His redeeming work on the cross.
• The last month has been full with prep and teaching in Ellerslie 2.0, a multitude of meetings, and in my spare time trying to finish up the book on Ruth. Despite every attempt, I have not been consistent in releasing content for Deeper Christian, which I’m prayerfully considering how to rectify this month.

February 14, 2026

• Ruth Book update: I have the final edit of the book and am updating and making final decisions about the edits for the final three chapters. It should be finished by Monday and then it will be off to typesetting (probably another week) and then the printers. I’m temporarily planning for a mid-March release date (with a possible early-bird special for those who want to buy more than a single copy).
• Preaching update: after nearly 2.5 years, I’m nearing the end of my series on preaching overviews of the New Testament books. I released the first of this series on youtube and plan to slowly drip out the others over this year. I’m prayerfully considering what series to start next for the times I get to preach at my church.

January 31, 2026

• Ruth Book update: We are finishing up the last round of edits and we just got the mockup of our cover (want to take a sneak peak?)
• I’ve been spending a lot of time prayerfully considering the future of Deeper Christian. Once the Ruth book is released, I’m planning to focus on writing a manifesto for Deeper Christian and my life (I’ll post it on the website) and will likely rebuild/restructure the website for better navigation, clarity, and communication. More details to come.

January 17, 2026

• I am nearly finished with the second round of edits for my book on Ruth. While it has taken me far longer than I expected (I was hoping to have the book released last summer, haha), I am making great progress almost daily. If I were to estimate, I am probably a week away from final edits and getting it ready for typesetting (and being sent off to the printers). So we are close!

• We launched a new style for our weekly Deeper Digest (super excited) … don’t receive it, I’d love to send it to you!
• After over ten years of sending a daily classic quote (and then pausing for a season), I’ve decided to only send out a weekly quote moving forward (included in the Deeper Digest) … check out my collection of classic quotes here.
• I just received our Israel 2026 trip pricing … and it increased substantially to nearly $6k a person. I cannot in good conscience ask people to pay that price and since it was such a huge jump in price from previous trips, we’ve decided to cancel without any current plans to take a group to Israel on a Bible Study Tour. We are exploring other options and possibilities, but it may be a few years before we decide to pursue it again. I’m deeply sorry for the inconvenience.
