Every month ChristianAudio.com gives away a free audiobook. Some are worth downloading, others I don’t even bother with. This month, however, is a doozy. If you are familiar with Teen Challenge founder David Wilkerson, or if you have a desire to read … er, listen … to the biography of a great man of God, you need to download this one!
David Wilkerson was a pastor who decided to become a bit radical and throw himself completely upon Jesus. In so doing, God began to use his life on the streets of New York to love on and meet the needs of druggies, gang-members, and down-and-outers. What resulted was a man sold out for Jesus, lives radically changed, and a phenomenal story declaring the greatness and grandeur of our God.
This book was turned into a movie in 1970 starring Pat Boone in the role of Wilkerson. One of the great moments in the book (and movie) is when a notorious gang member (Nicky Cruz) confronts Wilkerson and says he is going to cut him to pieces. Wilkerson’s response: simply, well even if it happens, every piece is going to continue loving on and showing Nicky Cruz Jesus.
If you have never read this phenomenal biography, or even if you have, hop on over to ChristianAudio.com and download the free audiobook. It is only available through the month of September, after which it will go back to being an audiobook you have to pay for. Why wait?
Note: you will have to sign up for an account with ChristianAudio … but its free and you’ll have access to their free audiobook of the month from here on out. No downside! And no, this is not an endorsement of ChristianAudio (though I do like them a lot) and I get nothing from mentioning the audiobook or pushing you to their website—this is purely because I love this book and think you should hear it. Cheering you deeper!
