Some of my favorite books to read are Christian biographies.
Reading about men and women from Christian history that have given up comforts, pleasures, and even their lives for our King and His Kingdom often brings deep encouragement and conviction to my life.
One of my favorite series is Christian Heroes Then and Now by Geoff and Janet Benge.
Though written to young adults and giving a good but basic overview of the hero’s life, Christians of all ages will be deeply pressed and encouraged by this series as they see God’s faithfulness lived out in a variety of circumstances and situations.
