I love to study the geography of the Holy Land. Without the maps, we miss a lot of important details and depth within Scripture. And the authors presume you have a working understanding of the geography of Israel in their writing.
Recently I read through a little book showcasing the geography of Israel in light of the life and ministry of Jesus. And wow, what an encouragement and illumination to my own studies.
Packed within 150 pages is some great insights and “aha” moments. John A. Beck, who has written other books on visiting Israel, has provided a tremendous introduction to the importance of geography in Scripture—linking the Old and New Testaments—in his book Along the Road: How Jesus Used Geography to Tell God’s Story.
