Wedding bells are ringing in my ears today.
Okay … no actual bells have gone off … yet.
This morning one of my dear friends, Tim Meier, is getting married to his lovely bride Candice. And I, for one, am excited.
I have known Tim for nearly a decade and have seen him grow and mature in a man of God—a joy not only to watch take place but to also have a small part in. It’s always amazing to me to see how God uses people—their lives, their words, their encouragement, or
My life has certainly been shaped by countless individuals throughout the years.
But the wedding today also got me thinking about the fact that Jesus is, at this very moment, engaged to His bride—the Church.
Read Ephesians 5 or Revelation 19-22 and discover that there is a marriage on the horizon, soon to take place. Which means, Jesus is engaged. Such an interesting thought. And just as a bride prepares herself for her groom, so too the Church is to prepare herself for our heavenly groom, Jesus.
So whatever you may be doing today—whether it be attending a wedding or having a restful Saturday—remember we are to be a pure and spotless Bride, prepared for the coming of the King
