While I’m a big advocate for doing our own “devotions” in the Word and not using “devotional books” as our substitute for Scripture, I have found a few yearly devotionals that I will occasionally use to augment my study time in the Word.
Here are a few of my favorites:
- My Utmost For His Highest (Oswald Chambers)
- Streams in the Desert (L.B. Cowman)
- Morning and Evening (Charles Spurgeon)
- There is also a collection of Tozer writings laid out in 365-day readings
Looking forward to 2024, I’d love to give five people their choice of Chambers, Cowman, or Spurgeon’s timeless classics to spur them on in this new year.
