Some of my favorite stories in the Old Testament deal with David’s mighty men. These heroes of old were legendary … and we need such men for this hour. Using these mighties as a backdrop, Eric and Leslie Ludy deal straightforward with prayer in their book Wrestling Prayer.
Prayer in modern Christianity has become something we mumble before bed or quickly before we eat. But prayer throughout Scripture changed the course of nations, transformed lives, and drew one closer into intimacy with God Himself. Prayer is not a wimpy pastime when there is nothing else to do – prayer is hard work, and for the Christian, a true delight.
Eric and Leslie Ludy’s book has had an immense impact on my life. Not only did I learn what true prayer was, but it infused passion, intensity, and yearning into my prayer life. Outside of EM Bounds’s writing on prayer, I cannot recommend another book so highly on the subject. It truly is a must read for every believer. And with stories, examples, and a showcase of the lives of mighty heroes of old, this book is not only practical and enlightening, but also enjoyable to read.
This month we are giving away four copies of Wrestling Prayer and its easy to sign up! Fill out the form below and you’re finished. Winners will be announced next month.
