Was there a hidden secret to Hudson Taylor’s life?
Considered the father of modern missions, Hudson Taylor’s biography is an amazing story of dependence, faithfulness, and sufficiency in Jesus Christ. And the book does, of sorts, reveal the secret to Taylor’s success on the mission field and life.
Written by Hudson Taylor’s son and daughter-in-law, Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret describes a man with fierce faith, a surrendered and abiding life, and someone who put their confidence in the God of the Bible. The result was a life that was fully given, poured out, and greatly used by God.
Hudson Taylor declared: “An easy, non-self-denying life will never be one of power. Fruit-bearing involves cross-bearing. There are not two Christs—an easygoing one for easygoing Christians, and a suffering, toiling one for exceptional believers. There is only one Christ. Are you willing to abide in Him, and thus to bear much fruit?”
